The 2024 International Veggie Food Festival at the Chung Tai Zen Center of Houston
|
On May 19th, the Chung Tai Zen Center of Houston held its annual International Vegetarian Food Festival and Buddha Bathing Ceremony. In the spirit of joy and peace, over 300 attendees enjoyed diverse and delicious vegetarian dishes from different cultures. It was an opportunity for participants to immerse themselves in the compassionate Buddhist tradition of vegetarian eating, while fostering growth and wholesome affinity on the spiritual path.

Illuminating Lives with Bodhisattva Light
|
The Buddhadharma urges us to cultivate merit, practice repentance, and share the Dharma for our own benefit and the benefit of others. Developing good affinity through charitable giving, kind speech, beneficial actions, and companionship are basic bodhisattva practices that can create a harmonious world through compassion.

15 Years of Growth and Gratitude

At the 15th Anniversary Celebration of Bao Lin Chan Monastery, Kelly was deeply inspired by the dedication of the Shifus and volunteers. Also, after listening to Abbot Jianying’s Dharma talk, she realized the power of the Buddhist teaching of impermanence. By letting go of attachments, one can live with grace and equanimity.

Finding Peace Through Compassion
